The German Trade Office (GTO) is the official delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Taiwan and a member of the worldwide network of German Chambers of Commerce Abroad, with offices at 140 locations in 90 countries. Established in 1981, the GTO actively promotes economic relations between Taiwan and Germany and represented the interest of German business in Taiwan. Today the GTO is the core of an extensive network of German and Taiwanese companies. The GTO provides professional, comprehensive, and customer-focused services through its service unit DEinternational, which offers bilateral market entry and expansion services, trade fair services, legal and investment services as well as recruitment and training services.

DEinternational Taiwan Ltd. is currently looking for a proactive and positive individual to join our teams as a Manager Membership, Events and Governmental Affairs to start as early as possible.

Responsibilities

  • Support of GTO Business Alliance member companies, joint creation of events and marketing campaigns
  • New member acquisitions and development of new services to serve existing members as well as to attract new ones
  • Planning, implementation and hosting of industry-related events, seminars and webinars
  • Organization of networking events, such as our yearly Asparagus Dinner, Goose Dinner and German Beer Festival and German Christmas Market
  • Joint development of new campaigns and event series to promote the German Industry as well as the “made-in-Germany” approach
  • Close cooperation with local authorities and industry associations to promote joint activities in Taiwan and Germany
  • Close coordination with team members, including interns and management

Objectives

  • Promotion of German companies and the German Industry in Taiwan
  • Supporting German companies active in Taiwan with their brand building and public image
  • Creation of events that give added value to the local German-Taiwanese community
  • Generating revenues for the GTO Business Alliance
  • Promotion of core values of the German Trade Office Taipei within the community
  • Reaching out to the Taiwanese population and to act as a bridge between both sides to deepen cooperation and trust

Qualifications

  • University degree, preferably in economics, politics, diplomacy, or European studies
  • Able to develop long-term working relationships with partners and clients, strong interpersonal skills, strong networking skills
  • Diplomatic way of approach, experience in dealing with higher end clients and/or officials/ authorities
  • Understanding of German and Taiwanese industries, economic and political situations
  • Strong project management, organization, and problem-solving skills, ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines and in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to present or moderate on stage or in front of large crowds
  • Chinese-native speaker, fluent in written and spoken English, German is a strong plus
  • Well-versed in MS-Office and good presentation skills

  • Salary: 30.000 – 35.000 NT$ fixed monthly salary (with a three-month probation period, depending on previous experience) plus flexible, performance based year-end payment
